Diagnostic Evaluation

Our licensed, doctoral-level clinical psychologists conduct comprehensive clinical psychological evaluations with the goal of helping children, adolescents, and young adults better understand their unique strengths and weaknesses. Accurate diagnosis is essential for accessing necessary services. Our team evaluates for a wide range of clinical presentations, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Mood disorders
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Other clinical presentations

Evaluation services are currently offered throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York. Patient age range can vary by location. 

Patients who receive an evaluation may choose to remain with Autism Care Partners for treatment.

Autism Care Partners is an APPIC member psychology internship site committed to providing exceptional training to doctoral psychology students and masters’ level interns.

Rebeccah Costa

Psy.D.

Dr. Costa is a licensed clinical psychologist in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Dr. Costa joined Autism Care Partners as a post-doctoral trainee in 2019 specializing in assessment of autism spectrum disorders and ADHD. Upon completing her post-doctoral training, Dr. Costa joined Autism Care Partner as a full-time clinical psychologist and currently serves as the Regional Psychology Lead. Dr. Costa developed an early passion for supervision and training and serves as the training coordinator for pre-doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows. Dr. Costa earned her Psy.D. in clinical psychology with a focus in children and families and global mental health in 2019 from William James College.

Marlana Borgos

Ph.D.

Dr. Borgos is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist in RI and MA. She also has an M.A. and CAGS in school psychology. Dr. Borgos has diverse experiences working in inpatient and outpatient hospitals, schools, and private practice. She joined Autism Care Partners in 2020, where she evaluates children and adults with developmental, psychiatric, and neuropsychological problems. She also enjoys working with and supervising graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at ACP. 

Kaila Madera-Stein

LCSW, CGS-Trauma

Kaila is a licensed clinical social worker with a certificate of graduate studies in child and adolescent trauma. She joined Autism Care Partners in April 2020. Kaila provides therapeutic interventions for clients of varying ages; directs and oversees the Personal Assistance Services and Supports (PASS) program; and provides clinical supervision for Masters’-level interns from local colleges and universities. Prior to transitioning to ACP, Kaila spent nearly a decade working with court-involved youth and families. Kaila currently sees clients in individual, group, and family settings with the overarching goal of identifying and treating mental health, emotional, and behavioral concerns. Kaila earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and Certificate in Graduate Studies from Rhode Island College in 2019 and her PEERS provider certification in 2022.

Christine DiBello

Dr.

Dr. DiBello graduated from Immaculata University’s Clinical Psychology program in Malvern, Pennsylvania. She is currently a post-doctoral fellow at Autism Care Partners at our Warwick RI location. Dr. DiBello is committed to helping clients learn more about themselves and work towards their goals through diagnostic evaluation and CBT-based therapies. She has experience with working with adults and children with autism spectrum disorders and mood disorders.

Olga Spinola

Family Liaison

Olga is the Family Liaison for the Psychological Assessment and Counseling Center. She joined Autism Care Partners in 2016. Olga is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and Portuguese creole. Olga has a certificate in medical billing, coding, and administration.

Nadia Paré

Dr.

Dr. Paré is a clinical neuropsychologist with 20 years of clinical experience. She was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurological Sciences at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a Clinical Neuropsychologist at Nebraska Medicine, prior to moving to Connecticut a year ago. Dr. Paré completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology, neuropsychology track, at Université Laval, in Quebec City. She completed an internship in neuropsychology with a focus on memory disorders and rehabilitation in Ottawa, Canada, as well as a 2-year fellowship in clinical neuropsychology and neuroimaging, with focus on memory disorders, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, in Hanover, NH. While Dr. Paré’s primary clinical and research interests have been focus on memory disorder in aging, she has developed an interest in evaluation of autism spectrum disorder over the past year. Dr. Pare’s experience in providing services in medical and multidisciplinary settings has been a great asset in refining her skills in developmental disorders. In her free time, Dr. Paré enjoys being active in the outdoors, listening to live music, and cooking.

Andrea Lavigne

Andrea Lavigne, PhD, BCBA, LBA

Chief of Service Delivery

Andrea is a licensed clinical psychologist and board certified and licensed behavior analyst. Dr. Lavigne joined Autism Care Partners in January 2019 with a specialization in the early identification and treatment of autism spectrum disorder using Applied Behavior Analysis. Dr. Lavigne earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Rhode Island before going on to earn a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Boston College. She earned her certification in Applied Behavior Analysis at the University of Massachusetts. Dr. Lavigne earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Rhode Island under the mentorship of Dr. Mark Wood with a focus on neuropsychological assessment and research. Dr. Lavigne serves as the Chief of Service Delivery, overseeing the clinical service delivery across the entire organization. Dr. Lavigne also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Rhode Island where she teaches Applied Behavior Analysis.

Mark Dumas

Ph.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Dumas is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in both Rhode Island and in Massachusetts. Dr. Dumas has a 20 plus year professional career that has included academia, professional practice, executive management and public service. More specifically, Dr. Dumas has been on faculty at two medical schools, Emory University and Brown University, he has been President and CEO of three community-based organization in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island serving individuals of all ages with a wide range of behavioral health needs that include autism, served as an administrator for the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) in Massachusetts and has led a large department of Behavioral Health within a large community-based healthcare system. Clinically, Dr. Dumas has extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of ADHD and autism as he previously held two NIH postdoctoral fellowships in both areas at UMass Medical School and Brown’s Medical School.

Stephanie Lopes, Psy.D.

Dr. Lopes is a licensed clinical psychologist in Massachusetts who joined Autism Care Partners in 2023. She completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology in 2022 through William James College in Newton, MA with additional specialty training in assessing and treating children and families. From early on in her career, Dr. Lopes has been committed to helping those most affected by trauma and the social and financial determinants of physical and mental health. Believing that good mental health care is about both the individual care to patients and the need for social advocacy, she has visited the State House in support of suicide prevention, conducted research on the potential protective role of self-compassion, and facilitated online forums for parents seeking ways to improve their emotional and disciplinary responses to difficult child behavior. Dr. Lopes also enjoys learning and growing as a parent of her own four children, especially when it involves visiting the beach and getting outdoors to explore the natural world.

Joanna Miles, Ed.D

Dr. Miles has worked with children of all ages and abilities for 23 years. She began her career in the Holyoke Public Schools in 2001 where she held a variety of positions, including School Psychologist, Lead School Psychologist, and Assistant Director of Special Education. Dr. Miles holds advanced degrees in Clinical Psychology and Educational Psychology, and currently works full time as a School Psychologist in CT. She resides in Agawam, MA with her husband, two children, and many pets!

KP Patrick, Psy.D.

Dr. Patrick (they/them) is a licensed clinical psychologist in Massachusetts. They graduated with their Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree from the Wright Institute in Berkley, CA. They joined Autism Care Partners in 2024 with the goal of further supporting children with autism spectrum disorder. Clinically, Dr. Patrick has extensive experience helping young children thrive!

Salli Shon,

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Salli Shon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Salli received her Master’s in social work at New York University and has over 25 years of experience working with children and families across a broad spectrum of settings comprising foster care, residential treatment facilities, partial hospital programs, outpatient counseling centers and in-home ABA programs. Over 10 years ago, Salli specialized in Autism and pursued a post master’s program in Applied Behavior Analysis.  To further hone her skills in understanding and treating Autistic children and adolescents, Salli received training at Cornell Weill Medical Center to conduct the ADOS as part of a diagnostic evaluation protocol. Salli believes that to be effective, a practitioner requires both clinical competencies and empathy. Salli’s current role at Autism Care Partners includes diagnostician and managing BCBA of the Avon CT center.

Melyssa Sweet

Psy.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Sweet is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Vermont and a nationally certified school psychologist. In 2021, she earned her Psy.D. in School Psychology from The State University of New York at Albany with a focus in children and families, psychological assessment, and learning. Dr. Sweet joined Autism Care Partners in the spring of 2024, where she specializes in the assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Ashley White​, Dr.

Dr. Ashley White is a licensed clinical psychologist in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. She joined Autism Care Partners in 2023. Dr. White graduated from William James College in 2019 and has a strong clinical background in the areas of multicultural and global mental health and treatment of trauma in children and families. Dr. White enjoys working with children and conducting psychological assessments to better support children in their ability to grow and thrive across settings.
