NEW YORK, September 13, 2022 — Autism Care Partners (ACP) continues to expand services to families throughout Massachusetts, opening a new location in Westford, and marking the organization’s eighth location in the Commonwealth and 23rd center overall. With locations in a total of seven states, ACP is one of the largest autism service providers for families in the Northeast. ACP remains committed to expanding access to these critical services at a time when CDC reports continue to show an increasing prevalence of autism spectrum disorder (1 in 44 children by age 8 according to the latest findings) despite the remaining bottleneck for families to obtain diagnostic evaluations.

“We are proud of our ability to take one more step to make therapeutic services available to children diagnosed with autism within the Westford community. Today, more than ever, families need access to high-quality and impactful services. By offering a combination of interdisciplinary services, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, speech and language therapy, social work services, and occupational therapy, and incorporating the Visual Immersion System™ (VIS™), we will be able to support our clients and families as they experience behavioral growth and milestone progression,” said Ciara Newcomb, Managing Board Certified Behavior Analyst of the new Westford center.

While the Westford center will immediately offer ABA therapy and access to ACP’s diagnostic evaluation program, ACP is excited to soon add the offerings of Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Licensed Clinical Social Work services to the children and families it serves. Within these services, ACP will also deploy the Visual Immersion System™ (VIS™), a proprietary and immersive Language Acquisition System specifically developed for minimally verbal children with autism and other developmental disabilities. The VISTM was co-developed with Boston Children’s Hospital’s Autism Language Program and incorporates many principles of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) which help promote measurable progress in learners with a broad range of diagnoses and communication profiles.

The team welcomes families, academic and medical partners, health plan colleagues, and community members to tour our center and learn more about our services at our open house on October 4th from 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm. During our open house, Jodi Ross, Town Manager of Westford, will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:15 pm to celebrate our grand opening event.
